I tried to launch the LonWorks Plug 'n Play utility from the Control Panel and got "The registry key for the network interface could not be opened" error message instead. (KB369)

Question Detail
When I tried to launch the LonWorks Plug 'n Play utility from the Control Panel, I got an error message saying "The registry key for the network interface could not be opened. You can not modify the network configuration settings until at least one interface is installed." How can I resolve this?

Solution
This error indicates that you installed the driver software for the LonWorks network interface card correctly but the network interface card hardware is not present. In most cases, this is simply because you did not plug in the card firmly and deeply enough to be recognized by the Windows operating system. Therefore, please try to unplug the card and plug it back in so that Windows can recognize it.

Another possible cause of this message is that something is wrong with the PC card slot on your PC/laptop. In this case, you should try to test the card by using another PC or try to use another available slot. Or, if the card is physically damaged and could not be recognized by your PC properly, you may get the same error message. In either case, you need to eliminate any hardware or physical connection problem.
