Question Detail
I am using Visio 2010 and my LonMaker menu has disappeared. How can I fix this?
Solution
When opening a network via LonMaker, Visio is launched. In Visio, there is a LonMaker Add-In that allows users to easily perform LonMaker functions. This menu can sometimes disappear for various reasons. If your LonMaker Add-In/Menu is no longer available in Visio 2010, please follow the directions below.
- Open the Windows Start menu, point to Program Folders, and then click Microsoft Visio. If you see the LonMaker menu after Visio starts, skip the rest of this procedure.
- Open the Advanced Opetions menu by selecting the File tab and clicking File->Options->Advanced.
- Under the General section at the bottom of the screen, make sure that ‘Enable Automation events’ is checked. Exit and restart the LonMaker tool. If you restart the LonMaker tool and you see the LonMaker menu, skip the rest of this procedure.
- Open the Advanced options menu by selecting the File tab and clicking File->Options->Advanced, and then scroll down to the very bottom under General and click File Locations.
- Write down the LonMaker path shown in the Add-ons box or copy the text to a notepad file, and then delete it. By default, the LonMaker path is C:\LonWorks\LonMaker\Visio. The path may be followed by a semicolon if there are any additional paths in the list.
- Exit and restart Visio.
- Open the Advanced options menu by selecting the File tab and clicking File->Options->Advanced, and then scroll down to the very bottom under General and click File Locations.
- Enter the LonMaker path you wrote down in step 5 (copy back the text from the notepad file ) in the Add-ons box. Include the semicolon if there are additional paths after the LonMaker path.
- Exit Visio and then start the LonMaker tool. (39839)
