The PCC-10 network interface card does not work with my Dell laptop model Latitude E6410, E6510, E5510 or M-Series. (KB763)

Question Detail

When I run 'Test' from the LonWorks Plug 'n Play Control Panel applet, the Diagnostic window shows '** Failed **' as the test result for Network Interface Node Status and I cannot use my PCC-10 card. How can I fix it?

The Dell laptop models affected by this issue are the Latitude E6410, E6510, and E5510.

To fix the problem, do the following:

Procedure 1

  1. Download to your PC.
  2. Unzip the file and save Echelon_PCC10_Fix_Dell_Eseries.reg to your PC.
  3. Double click on the Echelon_PCC10_Fix_Dell_Eseries.reg file, which will add an entry to your Windows registry. If Windows asks you "Are you sure you want to add the information in......." for confirmation, select "Yes" to proceed.
  4. You may need to reboot the PC.

The registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Pcmcia\Parameters will be added to the Windows registry with the key name "IrqRouteToPciController", value of 8, and type of REG_DWORD.

If Procedure 1 does not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to perform Procedure 2.

Procedure 2

NOTE: If you are not familiar with how to access the Windows registry, please contact open a Support Ticket before proceeding.

  1. Go to the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{68EE3401-D4CA-11D3-8DBB-0060082936F2}
    or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{68EE3401-D4CA-11D3-8DBB-0060082936F2}\0000 and look for the key name "PcmciaExclusiveIrq".
  2. Delete the key name "PcmciaExclusiveIrq".
  3. You may need to reboot the PC.
