Course 201 - LonWorks Network Design (KB913)

LonWorks® Network Design

Course Description

Course Duration: 3 Days  (24 hours)

Overview
In this course students will learn how to quickly design and deploy LonWorks networks correctly the first time.  Students will practice each phase of the network design process including selecting network components, choosing appropriate network architectures, installing network infrastructure and network devices, programming the network, verifying network/device health, optimizing network performance, performing maintenance,  and documenting the network design and its performance. The class provides design concepts, demonstrates network tools, provides useful job aids and lab exercises that emphasize hands-on experience in performing the end to end implementation of a LonWorks network.

Who Should Attend
This course is a must for anyone who is working with LonWorks networks including:

  • Network Integrators
  • Network Design Engineers
  • Control Technicians
  • Network Installation Technicians
  • Device Development Engineers
  • Sales Engineers

Course Prerequisites

  • Working knowledge of Windows 98 or Windows NT / 2000 / XP
  • A basic understanding of LonWorks concepts and terminology
  • Complete the pre-course reading and LonWorks Basics Quiz

Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course students will be able to:

  • Identify network architectures and select network components
