Checking the activation status of Visio 2010 that comes with OpenLNS CT or LonMaker Turbo SR4 (KB967)

Microsoft no longer allows Visio 2010 activation.  Please consider ordering the latest IzoT CT with Visio.

On a new installation of the versions of OpenLNS CT or LonMaker Turbo SR4 that come packaged with Microsoft Visio 2010, Visio may fail to activate for some reason. If you are unsure of the reason or just want to check that status of the License you can run a couple of scripts.

There are numerous references to these scripts to be found on external web sites. Here are just two:

These articles refer to Office14. Visio 2010 is part of Office 14. The articles talk about running two scripts from a command prompt

1) cscript “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs” /dstatus

This will tell you exactly what version of Visio is installed and if there is a valid License for whatever is installed.

2) cscript “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\ospp.vbs” /act

There must be a valid internet connection for this to work. This activates with the key that is embedded on the installation CD or that which the user entered by typing into the "Change Product Key" if the embedded key does not work and the user has been provided with a new key by Echelon.
