IzoT CT or IzoT Net Server installer never seems to complete - RDS issue (KB1348)

If the IzoT Commissioning Tool (CT) or  IzoT Net Server installer never seems to complete or seems to be taking an excessive amount of time then there may be a an issue with Microsoft Windows Installer RDS Compatibility.

In this case, try the "Turn off Windows Installer RDS Compatibility " option.

1. Click Start (or Windows key + R)

2. Type "gpedit.msc" and hit Enter

3. Navigate to:

Computer Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> Windows Components >> Remote Desktop Services >> Remote Desktop Session Host >> Application Compatibility

4. Right click on "Turn off Windows Installer RDS Compatibility" Setting and select Edit from the drop down menu

5. Select the Radio Button labelled 'Enable'
6. Click OK

After successful installation, the setting can be set back to the original value.
