Always assign a Gateway IP address for SmartServer LAN or WAN ports that use Static IP addresses.
Also make sure you change the port types so that none of the WAN/LAN ports are using "Startup mode".
If you are using a static IP addresses for the SmartServer LAN or WAN ports make use you always assign the Gateway IP address. Even if you don't actually have a gateway you should assign a dummy Gateway IP Address.
If don't you may see one of the following problems:
1. SmartServer doesn't receive the service pin message for a LON device
2. You can't provision a LON device when manually adding the UID
3. The SmartServer can't communicate to the LON devices
