FT3120 programming

And also I have .NDL file and .NXE files generated at same time. I have a confusion that which file to be programmed.
According to our customer we have to program .NDL file using Nodeload console application, and configure the device to 'online' by using NLutil NodeUtility GUI software. But if I program .NXE file using Nodeload console application, then no need to do configure device to 'online' as it automatically happened.
I want to know whether these two ways of programming gives same results or not? If not what is the difference between those two processes?
My purpose is to automate this programming and configuring function by using console application “Nodeload”. Please advice?

The NXE file is meant for Integration Tools like LonMaker and CT and should not be used with NodeLoad. The NXE file doesn't contain all the information needed for to fully update the device using NodeLoad.

Is the issue that the node is left in the soft-offline mode after Nodeload? If the image was exported configured, then this will be the case, but as soon as you reset or power up the node it will be on-line.

I have echelonU10 USB NETWORK- TP/FT-10 device and IC 'FT3120' to program.
