Hardware to use with NodeUtil

Good morning --

We have a project for which we need to locate the Neuron IDs of devices throughout our building.  What's the least-expensive network interface we could use to interface via NodeUtil?

Not usually a fan of going the cheap route, but this is just a one-off project, so we're happy to try to find a used device on eBay, we just want to be sure we get the right hardware.
